You can always find a way to blame folks you want to blame

Isn't it liberals who are supposed to come up with doltish excuses for criminal behavior?  I thought that was the stereotype we operated under these days. But conservatives do it, too.  For every "Oh, he did X because he grew up poor and unloved and unemployed and uneducated," you get "Oh, he did X because his parents didn't raise him right and he listened to Rap music."

First time I've heard legalized abortion blamed — well, yeah, there's been that "Oooooh, culture of death!" thing, but the idea that legal abortion means kids "these days" are suffering from "survivor syndrome" that leads to … um … shootings?  Yeah, that's … novel. And/or doltish.

Never mind that Roe v. Wade was in 1973, which means we should be seeing a bunch of 40-year-olds also suffering from "survivor syndrome."  That abortion rates have been falling in the US since the early 80s (for a variety of reasons) doesn't seem to track here, either.

Of course, this isn't being presented as an excuse, per se, but as a way to place blame on others that this guest speaker, the Executive Director of "Priests for Life" wants to blame for pretty much anything.  Still, I'd be amused (as well as sickened) if the accused killers actually picked up on this and used it as a defense.

So this happened. Only on Fox will you hear someone suggest that a factor in the Oklahoma shooting was that the "post-Roe v. Wade" kids had "survivor syndrome" because they "could have been aborted."
