I don't think there's some crazy conspiracy theory going on here. But there are still a lot of questions that aren't disturbing for not having answers, but for not having people asking them. Maybe there are no answers (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/10/04/what-pushed-miriam-carey-to-a-capitol-hill-tragedy.html), but our willingness to shrug, thank the cops for keeping us safe, and move along to the next news cycle is, to say the least, disturbing.

It seems the key question is, when did they know she was unarmed? I would guess "Suicide bomber" is one scary situation for police in such a target-rich environment.
Certainly, +Phillip Scalo. Other questions might be what specific behaviors warranted use of deadly force, and are those behaviors different for Capitol Hill police than, say, downtown Bohunk, South Dakota police.
There's no doubt that she was behaving in a threatening fashion, and was non-compliant. But was deadly force the most appropriate thing to use here? I don't get the sense that a lot of folks are asking those questions. She's just the crazy lady that, sadly, had to be put down.
