'People keep asking us why our states have been successful. Here’s a hint: It’s not about our Web sites.
Sure, having functioning Web sites for our health-care exchanges makes the job of meeting the enormous demand for affordable coverage much easier, but each of our state Web sites has had its share of technical glitches. As we have demonstrated on a near-daily basis, Web sites can continually be improved to meet consumers’ needs.
The Affordable Care Act has been successful in our states because our political and community leaders grasped the importance of expanding health-care coverage and have avoided the temptation to use health-care reform as a political football.'
How we got Obamacare to work
Leaders put the people — not politics — first.
Amen.
The comments are frightening. So many “why should I have to pay for you?” The most identified as Christian country in the West is also the nastiest and most right wing. I’m pretty sure ‘Me First’ isn’t a major part of the New Testament.
The US spends twice per head on healthcare than the UK. Just Federal spending per head is more that ALL spending in the UK per head. You could have an NHS, plus all the private stuff on top.
@LH – Sadly, nothing you say is inaccurage.
So it works in states where the politicians let it work? Shocking.
@LH
One of the main problems is that it appears that a majority of Americans have no clue how Insurance works, and seem to not understand that “Paying for someone else” is how you get the insurance company to pay for your doctor visits.
We are a very stupid country with a useless press with a huge military and a lot of nuclear weapons. Feeling safer yet?
@BD – Good observation on how insurance works.
