For probably obvious reasons, the Professor was always my favorite character on "Gilligan's Island" — smart, polymath, absent-minded, distractable, constantly vying against stupidity (while often showing it himself), and making radios out of coconuts and palm fronds long before MacGuyver ever came along.
Farewell, Mr. Johnson — I enjoyed your stay.
