If you're 48 years old with a Bachelor's Degree and still working in fast food, I think there may be more issues to be dealt with than they're letting on.

In order to accurately figure out where a politician stands, you should look at her voting record rather than listen to her speeches. In order to figure out if the media is presenting an honest viewpoint in an interview, you should look at the unedited footage of the interview. Politicians and media outlets have a way of obscuring truth and diverting attention that is on par with the Jedi Mind Trick.
+Mark Means sometimes priorities in life change. To assume you understand every situation and can therefore judge everyone's situation appropriately does not seem realistic. Not everyone is or can be a rising star that can go from zero to CEO.
But more importantly, if anyone is going to explain an idea by saying, "Corporations will inherently trickle down and take care of us" they have to first show cases where that is true. IE if you want to strip pay floors show me cases where this works and show me how businesses don't abuse wages where they can get away with it. Or if you want to strip regulations show me where doing so has paid off. Because the evidence doesn't seem to support such ideas.
So, +Jon Weber , you're telling me that someone with the drive to get a bachelor's degree (in what, we don't know) can do absolutely no better than working a fast food job?

No. I'm telling you without the facts neither of us should presume to know this person's situation and know why something should or should not occur. Life is more complicated than sound bites and Daily Show clips.

If trickle down economics worked, our already shockingly low minimum wage and practically nonexistent corporate tax would not have allowed employment opportunities to dry up as they have.

America would in a much better position if employees would just accept that in today’s world $200 a month is the going rate. China has become enormously successful by making sure that the population puts the corporation before self, and is prepared to forgo left wing ideals, such as family first, in pursuit of supporting the country. Sleeping in the factory dorm 5 nights a week makes the production much more efficient.
The West must understand that placing employees above company, with pointless red tape, handicaps any sort of production. International Corporations will follow low taxes and low wages, so the idea of any sort of State support for individuals must me quashed, as the taxes to support such liberties are an anathema to modern business.
