All that area from the white shoreline band to the foreground should be full of water. Between drought/record lack of rain in California (the lake has gotten 3/4" of rain YTD, vs normally getting 4.5" by this time of year), and having to draw water off from this lake vs. the nearby one that had problems with its hydroelectric dam, San Antonio is pretty much out of business as a rec area for the time being. It's officially at 5% capacity.

Low Water Level at Lake San Antonio Leaves County Considering First Park Closure in History
The warm days of an Indian Summer might feel like the perfect chance to fit in some lakeside lounging before the winter rains hit, but that same invitingly warm sun is sucking South County’s lakes dry.
