I think she was seriously considering a presidential run somewhere along the way, but has fallen in the abyss between the arch-conservative wing of the GOP and the rest of the electorate. For all her goofiness, she bowed to political pressure (or reason) just a few too many times to keep her more rabid supporters happy.
Here's hoping that Arizona is able to come up with someone better.

She made the announcement at Park Meadows Elementary School in Glendale, Ariz., during an event attended by both students and current and former Brewer staffers.
