Study after study has shown that humans are just not good at multi-tasking — certainly not as good as they think they are. While this rarely has tragic consequences (unless one of the tasks is "drive the car"), it's worth bearing in mind as to overall effectiveness in trying to do well the
main thing you are trying to do.
And for "you" and "they" above, yeah, pretty much includes "I" and "me."
