X-Men Visionaries: Neil Adams – One of the best (arguably the best) artist on X-Men ever. 5/5 stars.

Thor: God of Thunder, Vol. 1 "The God Butcher" – Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic give us the best Thor book since Walt Simonson's golden days. 5/5 stars.

Uncanny, Vol. 1 "Season of Hungry Ghosts" – Andy Diggle does an a typically fine action/suspense series with a touch of super-powers. 4/5 stars.

Zero, Vol. 1 "An Emergency" – Ales Kot does Jason Bourne, only less intelligibly. 2/5 stars.

Secret Six, Vol. 3 "Danse Macabre" – The Six square off against the Suicide Squad. Anything combining Gail Simone and John Ostrander is going to be enjoyable. 3/5 stars.

Red Team – Garth Ennis plays the "cops decide to take the law into their own hands' trope, but does a decent job of it. 3/5 stars.

Sheltered, Vol. 1 – "Lord of the Flies" set in a Rocky Mountains survivalist compound. Which is better than it sounds. 4/5 stars.

Courtney Crumrin, Vol. 5 "The Witch Next Door" – Triffic stuff from Ted Naifeh. I love this character — a little Harry Potter, a lot Neil Gaiman — and series to death, and this non-stand-alone volume shows why. 5/5 stars.

So, yeah, I've doing these occasional graphic novel / trade paperback collection posts, since I retired the podcast, but that's left a ton of weekly comics some of them quite good, untalked-about (by me). I'm pondering what I want to do about that.
