Pairing up roommates

For better or worse, I ended up with a single my Freshman year in college, and was able to wangle a single as a Sophomore and as a Senior (I had a roommate of choice as a Junior, which was sufficiently educational and also a lot of fun).

But, honestly, I heard enough horror stories of random pairings to make me glad I didn't — though +Margie Kleerup and +Mary Oswell seem to have worked out okay after their first traumatic year together.
