This is, at best, anthropomorphic ingredients silliness (evolution and the successful passing along of genes is a process, not a being). At worst, it's not only used as a tool for folk to express their prejudices today ("Homosexuality is evil because gays can't reproduce") but their prejudices of yesteryear ("Miscegenation is evil because it mongrelizes the race," "The feeble-minded should be sterilized").
Individual survival, or survival of the family, the tribe, the community, may be a moral good, but don't confuse that with evolution. Evolution doesn't give a damn who survives. It doesn't give a damn about anything. It is not a person, nor a moral force, any more than gravity or electromagnetic radiation or nuclear decay. It just is. So make your moral judgments based on something other than "evolution".

"If there is one biological imperative for humans, it is this: love one another. Build communities. Cooperate. Help each other in adversity. Successful populations will express these behaviors to a greater degree."

Homosexuality and evolution
I made the mistake of reading some of the comments on those last youtube videos. There were some good ones, but they were also laced with the usual grunting assholes complaining about gays and “trannies” and quoting the Bible and making racist remarks about Africans. Let us pass over those contemptible arguments; there’s no dealing…
One of the problems I had with most of my professors when I was in school (graduate & undergrad) was they spoke about evolution as if it was an entity. Drove me nuts…
