Yahoo abandons the hierarchical Internet

That's how they got started — what the name actually means (Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle) — but Yahoo will be getting rid of its web directory shortly.

Which prompts a bit of nostalgia, but, honestly, when's the last time I visited that hiearchy? (Several years ago, at least.)
