  1. Actually, bone claws, at one time laced with adamantium, is one of his mutant powers. He also has healing factor and a crazy heightened sense of smell. Wouldn't want the comic author to wind up not knowing this on jeopardy after all. 😉

  2. +William Altman True, true. Though the underlying nature of his claws was not canonically established for a long time.

Also, I wish to hell Marvel would set up a style guide for what Wolverine's adamantium claws (once he gets them back, of course) look like — curved, straight, pointed, bevel-ended, tubular, knife-edged, whatever. It irks the hell out of me.

  3. Quite true, not until the Fatal Attractions arc when Magneto ripped the metal out; though, the new origin went against previously establish cannon regarding his claws. But you know what? Comics… are… weird! So whatever =)

I stopped following most Marvel titles back in the late 90s. So I'm not hung up on the shape of his claws so long as he can still use em to shave and open beer bottles.

I think any actual geek discussion / correction would happen with folks smiling about it and laughing over all the character rewrites.

  4. Yeah. I long for the Claremont/Byrne days of the X-Men, when things were still simple and the various characters not overused / retconned / Soul-Shatteringly Changed into the ground.
