Whether or not Biblical teaching should be the be-all and end-all of the abortion debate (my answer: no), it's important to realize that the Bible itself does not send a clear, consistent, unarguable message about abortion within its pages. In it, life is often deemed to begin upon taking breath; children are counted (for census or taxation) only after a month old; induced miscarriages don't count as serious injury; testing for adultery is proven when the priest's ritual causes a miscarriage; etc.
There are a lot of factors involved in the debate about abortion in general, as well as any individual woman's decision about it. Pretending that Scripture provides cut-and-dried guidance doesn't help anyone.

God is pro-choice
The Bible displays a great deal of nuance in addressing questions of life, but at its core, the Bible shows that God is pro-choice.
