Yeah, here's an utter shocker.
I actually don't protest this narratively at all. I'm sure there are stories that could be told about the sisters in question — perhaps a search for their presumably lost parents, perhaps a true love triangle, perhaps the threat of global warming … the possibilities are endless.
My cavils are with what will be even more painfully commercial pop tunes to be imposed on the world's ears.Though, to be fair, the two big songs of Frozen ("Do You Wanna Build a Snowman" and "Let It Go") have spawned a delightful industry of parodies. So maybe it's all a good thing.

She’s the Queen that sold over 3 million dresses and countless dolls. While there’s no official number for how much Frozen merchandise Elsa & Anna have moved in the year since it opened in theaters, it’s a safe bet that Disney is pretty happy with the number. Therefore, it does not strain …
If there's money to be made you can be sure Disney will be milking it for all it is worth.
As long as Robert Lopez does the music again. I'll follow that magnificent bastard anywhere.
+Les Jenkins Though, to be honest, that's no different from any other entertainment company.
+Brittany Constable I would be shocked if that didn't happen, though my biggest objection to Frozen was, in fact, the Pop Sensation That Is "Let It Go" (because it did feel so pop and imposed on the story).
Lopez is an absolute master of form. One of these days I'll have to write up my thoughts on the genius of Book of Mormon's songs, which are a rather fascinatingly specific form of parody.
