SPECTRE was a classic James Bond bad guy organization (the SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), run by classic (and multi-actored) Ernst Stavro Blofeld. SPECTRE and Blofeld dropped out of the series at one point because of rights disputes — which, clearly, have now been settled.
(The "Quantum" organization that Daniel Craig's Bond has been vying against was meant to play the SPECTRE role. I'm sure it will be shown now to have been a front for the latter, now that the name can be mentioned.)
So … exciting!

Well, that's tantalizing. And unexpected. I wouldn't have thought they had a ghost of a chance of using SPECTRE. It's certainly in the spirit of the classic 007 films. Shades of Richard Maibum!
Coolest thing in the article was noting the (no doubt intentional) similarity between te gunshot crack pattern and the old SPECTRE logo.
