  1. Why are they all smiling? Somebody must be losing!

I've spent sooooo much on board games in the last two years. I'm out of work, but I've only managed to cut the spending down, not out. (Munchkin Legends 3: Myth Adventures arrived today.)

  2. +Gary Roth, in my collection, that would be games like Munchkin, Last Night on Earth, Arkham Horror, Cosmic Encounter… All the big games come out with expansions. Usually lots of expansions.

Oh, I posted the GameWireGirl link on the BoardGameGeek Facebook page. The likes are mounting!
    🙂

  3. +Scott Randel I tend to actually shy away from expansions, so that doesn't hit me as hard.

Expansion tends to over-complicate, burden, lengthen, or divert games when compared to their original, and that's usually not a good thing (ie: the designer originally built the game with a certain length and complexity in mind, which is being disrupted as an afterthought.

Sure, I have expansions to a few games where those expansions fit almost seamlessly. But that's the exception, rather than the rule. I have a fair number of Dominion expansions, only one for Settlers, and would never contemplate adding to Arkham Horror.
