Try this one, Dave. In the TNG episode "Starship Mine," the Enterprise underwent a "baryon sweep" to eliminate the baryons that accumulated during their time at warp. Since protons and neutrons are baryons, how could the ship be swept of them?
(I met the author of that episode at ECCC. I made it a point not to ask him about that.)
