It is altogether possible that the movie will suck horribly — but the trailers are so, so good, hitting every note the way I want it to be hit.
(Although apparently J J Abrams has graduated from Lens Flare to Embers In The Air as his visual signature.)
No, but seriously, the trailer, at least, works the nostalgia, the new slightly grimy realism, the menace, the taunting hope, just … letter perfect.

I was worried when news of the film first came out, with flashbacks of Phantom Menace racing through my mind, but this looks awesome.
That there is no kid and no cute critter (aside from the beach ball droid) on display gives me great hope. And it looks beautiful.
