Dear CBS — I'm tickled that you are starting up a new Star Trek TV series, and I'm sure it will be interesting.
I'm also sure I won't be watching it if you are confining it (after the premiere episode) to your separate $5.99/month streaming service.
Did the Ferengi suggest this as a good marketing strategy? Just wondering.

Lol… it's one of the new rules of acquisition….
+Dave Hill …heheheh…the ferengi. ^5
+Paul Scollon … and a ^5 for you, as well…
excellent comments, gentleman!
I won't watch it
It’s not high on my to do list.
+William Johnson Honestly, I'd love to watch it. But I won't pay $6/mo to watch it.
Putting aside the fact the CBS streaming service is unavailable in the UK. If this, like all Star Trek before it, is broadcast on Sky 1 exclusively I – and anyone else living in the UK – would have to spend a minimum of £20 (Or over $30) a month just for one show.
Granted I would have access to everything else available on Sky, but I don't want that now so I would just be getting Sky for one show.
I would before $4 a month for just the content I want. I see that as a huge saving and better value for my money.
+Stuart Anderson Yes, there is some other nefarious plan for other countries, no doubt, but those details haven't been mentioned.
Not yet mentioned, but we can all agree nefarious will be the right word
I'll wait to see what the reviews are like, and if they're really good, honestly, that's less than the cost of a movie rental and I'm fine with it, if it's ad free. If it's $6 a month and they advertise to me, nah.
+Daniel Swensen Apparently the normal CBS streaming channel ($6/mo) is not ad-free. There is an ad-free option at a higher price.
Ah, well, fuck them then.
