I have now made my contribution to Thanksgiving Dinner

To wit: my annual pecan pies (https://hill-kleerup.org/blog/margie/daves-favorite-pecan-pie.html). Playing around with the recipe again a bit this year; we'll see how it goes.

(Note: this is not a picture of one of my pecan pies. It is, though, of the higgledy-piggledy school of pecan placement, which I heartily endorse.)

I love pecan pies…but no one eats them here but me so I don't make them. Sigh. Mmm…pecan pies…

I am very fortunate that people here eat my pecan pies. But not all of them, so I get to eat some myself.

I have made some notes (in the comments of the link above) regarding what I did differently this year (successfully).

J D #Vance is trying to draw a weird line between "public policy" and "matters of #morality," claiming that the #Pope should stick to his lane in only commenting about the latter.

Given that the Right has insisted that *all* public policy should be driven by their morality for as long as I can remember, and that #Trump and his minions have constantly painted the #Iran war as blessed by God, Vance's suggestion doesn't even pass the laugh test.
