A quiet, lazy evening

The snow meant no travel, which meant we were stuck hanging out at the house last night, which turned out to be (for the cats as well as ourselves) rather restful.

(Though I have no doubts the cats would have found it restful regardless.)

Our helpful #trash company has provided, free of charge (except as some fractional amount of our trash bill over time) brand new giant #garbagecans which their new trash trucks can easily lift and empty.

Without being concerned, apparently, as to whether folk actually have the space (esp. those of us who keep our trash cans inside the garage, given our snowy winters) for these significantly larger cans.

So I spent the day re-configuring my garage shelving, dagnabbit.

I both loved and was deeply disturbed reading the George Stewart's " #EarthAbides " -- a thought-out and morose tale of the collapse of civilization after a 99.9% deadly plague sweeps the globe.

I won't be watching the MGM+ adaptation, though, both because that's a streaming service I don't have, and because either it will be faithful to the original (and deeply depressing), or not (and so depressing in its own way).
