Know them by their enemies

Paul Krugman:

'George Santayana famously remarked that “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” What he didn’t point out was that some people want to repeat the past — and that such people have an interest in making sure that we don’t remember what happened, or that we remember it wrong.'

I have no intention of seeing The Big Short, largely because it's not the kind of movie I find entertaining. But that it's being roundly criticized by Murdoch-controlled media outlets and by pols and pundits who would rather have you think the 2008 financial crisis and resulting Great Recession was due to the government giving too much loan money to the poor rather than speculative bubbles that (as they always do) blew up when too many greedy institutions tried to grab their share of the billions at stake … is pretty much all I need to know to recommend it to people who actually would enjoy such a movie. I hope it finds great success.
