AND, OF COURSE …
Well, family. And homework. And high school extracurricular support. And friends. And church stuff. And, um, jobs. And the rest of our lives.
I'd suggest Mozart in the Jungle … a lot of fun, though uneven from episode to episode. But hard to go wrong with Bernadette Peters and Malcolm McDowell
+The Bruce, Mile High That sounds like a … remarkable set of actors.
+The Bruce, Mile High Also, just what (a really cool additional thing to watch) we don't need. 🙂
Canada is producing some good series:
Orphan Black – The lead is extraordinary
Re:Genesis – Don't bother with season 4
I think last night I brought my grand total of TV shows I'm caught up with to four. (We watched the Sherlock Christmas special, so now it's that, Last Week Tonight, Downton Abbey, and Daredevil.) I could make more of a concerted effort to catch up, but it would cut into my reading and video gaming time.
Where's my time turner?
How do find the time to sit around that much?
+Gordon Rowell _Orphan Black_ has been highly recommended, but, between having to play catch-up and everything else in the hopper, it's just not going to happen.
+Clinton Hammond We don't. That's one of our problems.
Not sitting around that much isn't much of a problem +Dave Hill 😉
I think our list is a third of that, and too much. 🙂 Orphan Black is great. Mozart in the Jungle looks quite good.
We have way less than that.
Also, we don't have Netflix, which saves some watching.
We have Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on our list, which you might enjoy, but you have too much on your plate already.
Agents of SHIELD might be going away since it just is not all that interesting.
Orphan Black is fantastic. Again you already have too many things to watch.
We need to get to Man in the High Castle some day too.
Also, you missed out on The Americans, which is the best spy show out there right now.
+Stan Pedzick I've been anxiously waiting for the latest season of Orphan Black to be added to the Prime coverage. I made it through to the end of Man in the High Castle but barely. I've seen that its been reupped for a second season, but I'm not sure I'll give that more than an episode or two to engage me.
I was disappointed Minority Report was cancelled and hope to see one of the streaming services pick up future seasons. It was slow to start, but by the last couple of episodes I thought it had found its stride.
Agents of Shield is perpetually on the ragged cusp of rejection for me – it's been there since mid-first season, but Kate still wants to watch it, so I soldier on. It's been better this season, but… eh.
We have Agent Carter queued on Hulu.
We're watching Dark Matter on netflix right now, and we'll be watching the Expanse right after (bought first season on Google play)
Legends of Tomorrow with Kaylee (hulu)
Arrow (hulu)
Flash (hulu, with Kaylee slowly catching up via Netflix)
Rebels with everyone (Google play)
Steven Universe with everyone (hulu and google play)
Orphan Black binge watching whenever it's up (hulu)
Doctor Who and Sherlock (tunnelbear/bbc online)
Jessica Jones and Daredevil on Netflix, as they become available.
That's it for me. Kate's rewatching Leverage right now, I think, and keeps up with Supernatural (I didn't make it through season 3). I think that's it, aside from watching episodes of Fringe while I play The Secret World once in a blue moon (at this rate I'll finish the show in 2018).
No cable or dvr helps keep things in check. We can watch anything (thanks to itunes/google play) but when you shell out 15 to 20 bucks for a season of TV, you really stop and examine if you enjoy it – if I was paying for Agents of Shield beyond the 7 bucks a month for Hulu that I'm already paying, it would Never. Happen. – As it stands, I can still look at the money I optimistically spent on season one of Supergirl as "money I'll never get back.")
You can take Doctor Who off your waiting list, no new season this year.
Take the comic books off. Replace with Deutschland 83. Think a German version of the Americans. Set in real events – at the time the Soviets were scared that Able Archer was Reagan trying to do a pre-emptive strike. Americans saying “We believe a limited [nuclear] war is winnable” to which the Europeans point out “Not for us!”
