This movie is simultaneously hysterical and horrifying. Fortunately, even the horrifying parts are pretty darned funny.

One of my sons' favorites… and mine, as well!
Great review. Loved the bing at the end. What did your daughter think about it?
+Marty Shaw She liked it (whew!).
Having done some digging, various sites have calculated Phil's stay in Groundhog Day at between 8-35 years, depending on how long one thinks it takes to become an expert pianist and ice sculptor (and jackleg doctor) (and fluent in French).
I always figured it was longer than that but Harold Ramis said during an interview (I think he said it during an interview) that Phil was stuck in his little time loop for about 10 years.
Ramis said that on the commentary for the film, but later revised it after some folks had fun trying to figure out the "real" number.
So how long was it, really? Harold Ramis eventually said,
I think the 10-year estimate is too short. It takes at least 10 years to get good at anything, and alloting for the down time and misguided years he spent, it had to be more like 30 or 40 years… People [like the blogger] have way too much time on their hands. They could be learning to play the piano or speak French or sculpt.

Funny, it seems like this just came out yesterday.
