… but The Man speak sooth. Folk who want comic books to be simple escapist fare (and God knows I enjoy escapism and comic books) ignore that even what what one chooses to escape to carries a message and a meaning. For all that people might laugh at comics, or rail at writers being too ideological (in any direction), the truth is that without a bit of spice for the brain, all you are left with is a bland sandwich.
