Tweetizen Trump – 2017-05-10 "Comey!"

Aside from some PR blurbs, Donald, your Twitter feed today is mostly about your firing of FBI Director James Comey last evening, all with the charm and grace we've come to expect from your little Tweets from the Id.

► Cryin' Chuck Schumer stated recently, "I do not have confidence in him (James Comey) any longer." Then acts so indignant. #draintheswamp [1P]

Do you enjoy calling people names, Donald? I mean, really? Does it bring you joy, or a little frisson of pleasure, to not just pick arguments with people, or express your disagreement with them, but actually call them names, like you're a 4th Grader on the playground?

So I'm pretty sure you know this Donald, but for the rest of our studio audience …

… one can feel multiple ways about an individual in different contexts. I might dislike a neighbor and wish he would move, but would not want to see him die of a heart attack in front of his kids.

… one can have lack of confidence in someone and actually just hope that one will regain that confidence.

… one can dislike or be disappointed in an FBI Director, or even want him to resign, and still be pissed off about the timing of his firing or the manner in which it was done.

Real life. It gets so complicated sometimes.

► The Democrats have said some of the worst things about James Comey, including the fact that he should be fired, but now they play so sad! [2]

Most of Dems I have heard talking about this (and even some of the Republicans) have been the first to admit that Comey's actions in the last several months were problematic, and yet find your firing him while his bureau is actively pursuing a counter-intelligence investigation concerning Russia and last year's election, an investigation that touches on you and your campaign staff and various of your administration, to be highly problematic, if not suspicious.

Conversely, you've in the past said lots of nice things about James Comey — and even kept him on since you assumed office three and a half months ago. But now you play so sad, Donald.

► James Comey will be replaced by someone who will do a far better job, bringing back the spirit and prestige of the FBI. [3]

I have very little faith in that, Donald.

I do believe that he will be replaced by someone whose direction of the counter-intelligence investigation that involves you and yours, Donald, will be less vigorous and more dubious.

► Comey lost the confidence of almost everyone in Washington, Republican and Democrat alike. When things calm down, they will be thanking me! [5]

Dude, Republican and Democrat alike think your timing (and method) suck.

You then retweeted the Drudge Report (!) linking to a blog that lists "10 Major FBI Scandals on Comey's Watch." [6] Which would be a lot more convincing, Donald, if you had fired him in January when you took office, given that the vast majority of the items listed happened before 2017.

► Watching Senator Richard Blumenthal speak of Comey is a joke. "Richie" devised one of the greatest military frauds in U.S. history. For….years, as a pol in Connecticut, Blumenthal would talk of his great bravery and conquests in Vietnam – except he was never there. When….caught, he cried like a baby and begged for forgiveness…and now he is judge & jury. He should be the one who is investigated for his acts. [7]

Oh, look, Donald — more insults, rather than addressing what Sen. Blumenthal said.[10] A couple of notes:

1. Blumenthal's misstatements implying he served in Vietnam are grossly overstated in your tweets. Really.[9]

2. Blumenthal actually enlisted during the Vietnam war, and served in the Marine Reserves 1970-76, with an honorable discharge. You simply pulled multiple draft deferments, Donald.

2. Blumenthal, even after the controversy on his statements about Vietnam, still one more of the popular vote for the Senate from Connecticut, in both 2010 and 2016, than even Hillary Clinton did over you, Donald. So there.

► The Roger Stone report on @CNN is false – Fake News. Have not spoken to Roger in a long time – had nothing to do with my decision. [8]

Roger Stone indicates otherwise, Donald.[11]

===

You also retweeted the Drudge Report (!) linking to a a CNN (!!) article about how deadly Mexico is, due to its drug wars. [4]

So, once again, CNN is "Fake News," except when it talks about something that you and Drudge like. Sad!
