Apparently Trump's offhand comment at his Iowa rally about wind power being unreliable (and dangerous to birds) didn't go over well in a state that has already managed to shift 37% of its electrical generation over to wind power and is continuing to expand in that direction.
'Trump was talking up his support for coal during his speech in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday night when he said: "I don't want to just hope the wind blows to light up your homes and your factories." He paused before adding, "as the birds fall to the ground," a reference to birds killed by turbines.
Iowa's power plans have had the support of both parties in the state, including the GOP governor and GOP senior senator.
Trump’s putdown of wind energy whips up a backlash in Iowa
President Trump’s derision of wind energy at his Iowa rally was denounced across the state which has been a national leader in wind generation and is using the resource to fuel economic development.
His world tour went so well he's retreated to the US, and now he's doing a US tour and discovering there are 52 different states he can put his foot in his mouth. I wonder if he'll end up retreating to Washington with his tail between his legs, and only go out to go to resorts where everyone is paid to be obsequious.
Fake Fake Fake , they loved him in Iowa !
+Joe Young Be more specific. Who loved him in Iowa? The trufen who attended the Big Rally? Sure. The folk quoted who questioned his dissing of wind power? Are you suggesting the quotes are fake, the people described are fake, or what?
