My friend in the Water Department says that Colorado entered the wet 20 years of its 35 year cycle in Winter 2013/Spring 2014.
I arrived in 2000, just as the "dry spell" started, pretty much, and was privileged to be in Boulder during Januaries and Februaries of 60° weather. But it appears I got away before it turned… well… April like this.
Wow, all we got was wet pavement.
Got a call from Paul at 7am asking how much snow we got, and my response was "Didn't snow here," and he was again floored by the difference.

Snow in April is not at all unusual (and bright sun that melts it back off the next day or so likewise).
And it's a good thing, since last I read we were at only 2/3 average snowpack in the mountains right now.
Also I just wanted to say great use of one of my fave bits from The Milagro Beanfield War, which growing up in Colorado tang so very true.
