"It's not the Tsar's fault — it's his bad advisors!"

That's was the excuse the peasantry gave to the Tsar in Russia. The Tsar loves us. He's wise. He's holy. All the bad stuff that happens? Bad advisors.

And now we have pro-Trump folk in Trump Country who see the Trump Administration doing awful stuff, slow-walking or rolling back EPA regulations while they live in a hot-spot of children suffering from environmental toxins … but who still love their Beloved Leader.

'“We should not have to fight Republicans or Democrats to save our children. It’s not a political fight for us,” said Stacie Davidson, a Trump voter who co-founded the parents’ group with Mrs. Rhinehart (who didn’t vote for Mr. Trump). Mrs. Davidson said, “His loosening of E.P.A. regulations, it’s infuriating.” She added, “We’re ruining the environment for money.”

Mrs. Davidson learned in 2014 that her stepson, Zane, who was 10 at the time, had a rare form of leukemia. He is now in remission. She has traveled to Washington to speak in favor of stronger TCE regulations. “What we’re fighting for is seemingly being undone right now,” she said.

Still, she said, she did not regret her vote. “Trump’s a businessman. There are great things he can do for our country. But he’s used to building high rises for money,” she said. “He’s not as environmentally savvy. Our hope is that he surrounds himself with people who are more knowledgeable.”'

It's not politics! Politics has nothing to do with what Trump's Administration is doing. Nor does Trump! It's all those bad people surrounding him who are doing these bad things. It's Trump-appointed Scott Pruitt, who repeatedly sued the EPA while AG of Oklahoma, and eagerly rolled back or postponed every EPA rule he could get his hands on. It's Trump-appointed Andrew Wheeler, a coal lobbyist who's fought to promote coal while in office and weaken power plant regulations.

It's not Trump! It's those people he keeps surrounding himself with by accident!

Maybe if we re-elect him in 2020, he'll surround himself with more knowledgeable people. He does love us, after all.

  1. This is literally why the South is the poorest region in the US. Voters in Southern states vote for grifters who distract them with hate speech & promises of pogroms against their class/ethnic enemies.
