Potpourri for the Feast of St Ivo

I’m not thinking of buying Forever Stamps as a hedge against inflation. I’m considering them as a hedge against the inconvenience of having to go to the post office and buy 2 cent stamps because I have left over 39 cent stamps.
I also think the Post Office should be required to give the public several months (like 6) warning before they raise the cost of a stamp, so that we are not left holding so many “out of date” stamps.
Actually, they do give a fair amount of notice. It’s just, well, you need stamps until then, then you need new stamps.
I’d buy them just because I only buy stamps on rare occasions (I go through maybe 2-3/month, tops), so I have a vast abundance of obsolete stamps, such that I’m just burning 32×2=64 cents, because I don’t have any extras.
