One of the better done-in-one Superman tales of the last decade or two (it was published in 2001), Joe Kelly's conflict between Superman and the ruthless, powerful, self-absorbed team, "The Elite" (modeled not-so-subtly on "The Authority") and what it means to be a 21st Century hero is the next DC animated feature.
I'm not wowed by the animation style here, but the overall tale seems to hew to the original comic, which is a Good Thing.

The next DC Animated feature, Superman vs The Elite is already on its way and today saw the debut of its first trailer. Damn, I feel like I only watched Justice League: DOOM yesterday.
