Really, Bill? You wrote a book about Lincoln (or about his assassination, anyway), and you have no clue that Lincoln was a master of the amusing anecdote, the self-deprecating joke, the use of humor in person and in speeches to disarm and engage and sway people to his opinion?

So, to be fair, his comment on Lincoln isn't the zaniest thing he had to say.
