Yikes! Many of those break-up lines can’t be understood without some knowledge of fairly obscure philosophical theories or philosophers. There are a good number that are so obscure I don’t understand them.
My favorite was the Anselm’s (not Anslem) ontological proof for the existence of God as a breakup line. I would rather not be on the recieving end of the fourth premise, though:
Ours is a breakup greater than which none greater can be conceived.
I can conceive of a pretty great breakup, having seen the War of the Roses. Anselm would also say that the person who denied the reality of the breakup is a fool. Hmm. I REALLY need to get out more. 🙂
