Words to live(ing dead) by

2005-03-23_vahz.jpgVahzilok are bad.
Go up against too many vomiting Vahzilok, and you will die. No matter how buff a Scrapper you are.
Have a distracted healer (e.g., one who’s actually a Controller with Empathy), and you will die a lot faster. Especially when he’s busy getting vomited to death, too.
Pull them off, pick them off, deal with small groups, watch your health, don’t be afraid to run.
Just some thoughts …

(And Psi-clone still managed to ding to 15, despite dying twice on the mish.)

  1. After last night I’ve decided that Avo’s Contacts hate him.
Two nights ago was the Clank mission that was a bit to much. Last nights was really bad.
A CoT mission in Sky. Walk in and the first room is 4 spectural followers, and 1 spectural demon. Zazi Died once, Avo (super squishy) died three times on the mission. We pulled (most on the time only one came). Our tactics became pull them through two doorways and fight them until we used up all of our insperations. Then Zazi would take a few trip to go get more and then on to the next group.
which turned out to be 19’s. one level above Avo, but 2 above anything I got. Looks like a 4 person mission to finish it.
After that switched to Puck and teamed up with Strategist to take on some freakshow’s in Talos.
    Best. Map. I’ve. Seen. Yet.
It was all sorts of wonderful. The freakshow on the other hand, are nasty. They regen, and they rez. Thats right once you think that you are done with them they get back up one more time. This makes the fights just a bit tricky.
On the Plus side, Puck now has the “Pwnz” badge.

  2. Very cool. Sorry our dinner schedule interfered with lending a hand on the Killer Mish from Avo.
When i got home yesterday, I did some soloing with Torchielle. It is, as Avo will tell you, quite possible to solo with a blaster (fire in this case). It is also a delicate balancing act, as it is easy to get into A Lot of Trouble. Torchy has Energy Manip as her secondary, which gives her a couple of good melee stand-off powers, but there was at least one case where the “Thank Heavens There’s A Long Corridor Behind Me To Keep Running Backwards Down While Blasting As Fast As Possible” tactic failed. Terminally.

  3. Last night was indeed brutal. Downed four times in one session; a personal record. And at 950 debt per pop, the 10,000 xp I still need for level 19 becomes 11,000. Ugh.
Soloing a Blaster isn’t too tough, as long as you keep a close eye on your situation. Vahzilok have always been a problem for me. The zombie puke is bad enough, but if I let one approach too closely, I’m going down. It’s amazing how quickly the Health bar drops to a red sliver. Knockback and Flight have saved my hash on many occasions.

  4. Also…Congrats to Margie for P-Siren’s application to the FP.
    Huzzah!
I’m sure there will be plenty of people to vouch for her.

  5. As Dave and Margie were busy today, I turned on the “seek Group” flag, and joined a group of 8, which included 4 defenders (eventually). After a death in the first fight, we managed to work our way through to Dr. Vahzilok, and all my debt was gone! Then we started the same misiion again, with a higher level. Died in the same spot as the first time, then again in the next fight. Quit to leave for work with a healthy debt of 1533, and just over 3000 xp to level 19. Not bad. I’ll have to start joining more groups.
