The irony is killing me here

That even as I was contributing to discussions in the Alliance leadership yesterday regarding escalation of personal conflicts to various leadership and guidelines of how such conflicts should be resolved …
… I was dealing with a real life HR issue on just that very theme.
I am here to assure that it is *much* easier to deal with even the most fractious and irritating CoH character/player than a real, live, employee.
Further deponent sayeth not.

  1. Yet more reasons that I am glad that I am not in the Postition of that several of you are in. More than enough trouble can be had just at the Prefect level.
But, for the most part, from what I can see just OOCly talking about what is going on the other players in private goes a long way to resolving or acheiving understanding between the players.
One of the odd things is that Puck and Riley regularly talk about their character conflicts OOCly so that both of us are aware of what is going on and so that both of us can be comfortable with how things are playing out.
Sadly, the whole Allegro/Lupun/Fixette mess could have been straightened out if instead of contacting the Phalanx leadership, Allegro had talked to those two about what was going on and resolved it amungst themselves.
So…Kudo’s to you Dave…and good luck in your real life HR problems.

  2. “Take it to an OOC private /tell” is the first step on all of the various Alliance proposals, which makes a great deal of sense.
Heck, it’s not a bad piece of advice for RL, too.

  3. Yeppers! 🙂
And I found it odd that Saturday is one of the few times that Rayne is going to team with you guys.
P.S. Just so you know…Psi Provided much, unknown to him, entertainment last night. Too bad Pizzaz wasn’t around. 🙂

  4. The HR situation took a turn for the … odd yesterday. And on top of that, I had a long chat with another Alliance leader who was dealing with a very fractious SG applicant — and, again, the parallels to Real Life were … amazing.
Unfortunately, I don’t get paid if I change over to an alt in Real Life.

  5. Well, at least Puck didn’t have any trouble with Avocet during that interview!
By the way, was that just the luck of the draw, or did Stateswoman assign Puck that interview, and if so, for any particular reason?

  6. Well…Avo…
Since I am the only Officer that has teamed with you on a regular basis, I was the one that gave the pro’s for you joining, I was the only one that volunteered to do the interview…and I am the one that does 90% of the interviews for the FP….so I was the one that interviewed you.
But since you are already in the Alliance, it was decided that only one officer needed to be in attendance.
