  1. With Volume III, skirmishes have become a problem for me. Because they are incorporated into the Epic storyline, I have to participate in some of them to play through that story. Unfortunately, because I am one of the few who do not like to play skirmishes, I have played only one or two on any given character. That means that my soldiers are too wimpy to survive a difficult skirmish, such as those found in the Epics, and thus I too am unable to survive. And a bug in the skirmish at the end of Book 1 means that Fellowship skirmishes fail (the NPC gets killed by the Fellowship), so I don’t have that alternative to the solo skirmish.

    /heavy sigh

  2. Well, that’s unfortunate. I’d think a mechanism like that (even assuming it was working properly) would be *a* route to advancement, not *the* route.
