About Margie

Normally this sort of thing is written by the person themselves, but Dave the Hubby is going to write this up for Margie, just ’cause he’s the one who got her into this blogging mess to begin with.

Margie is …

  • … a damn fine cook, renowned amongst our friends for going to evidently great lengths to make them all full, fat, and happy.
  • … from a family that entertains, often, and in large numbers.
  • … someone who can cook for a small group, for a dinner party, or for a hundred-plus people out of a church kitchen.
  • … a collector of cookbooks. She’s got hundreds of them. She reads them for fun. Even if she sat at a keyboard night and day, she’d never get all the recipes she has to share in here.
  • … a “gestalt” cook. She’s the sort to grab two things from the fridge, three things from the pantry, and whip up a great meal. Or, conversely, to take elements of four different recipes, tweak them as she feels they need, and make something new out of them (and, unless she writes it down, irreproducable).
  • … a Swedish-American on her father’s side, which is why so many of her recipes start with, “Take a pound of butter …”
  • … a resident of the Denver area. Adjustments for altitude will be noted as appropriate.
  • … mother of an active 3-year-old, and wife of a blog-savvy husband, Dave (who also sometimes posts here).
  • … a statistician and clinical analyst in her professional life.
  • … someone who likes food. There’s very little she won’t at least try. Despite this, she has tremendous patience with her far-more-finicky husband.
  • … someone Dave finally talked into getting a blog!
  • … an all-around swell lady.
