Post Grape Nuts Lorraine

A rather “unusual” brunch dish.  Make them guess what the secret ingredient is.

Ingredient:

  • 2 bacon slices
  • 1 c thinly sliced onions
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 3/4 c milk
  • 3/4 c (4 oz) shredded Swiss Cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper 13 c Post Grape Nuts
  • 1 lightly baked 9 inch pie shell

Directions:  

  1. Fry bacon.
  2. Drain and crumble,
  3. Reserve 1 tablespoon of drippings.
  4. Sautee onion in bacon drippings until tender and browned.
  5. Combine eggs milk cheese, salt, pepper and cereal.
  6. Stir in onions and bacon.
  7. Pour into shell and bake at 450° for 15 minutes.
  8. Then reduce temperature to 350° and bake for 15 minutes.

Serves:  4
