Dave Barry's fake history book (Dave Barry Slept Here) devoted some time to the repeated renaming of Hoover/Boulder Dam over the years.
I can just imagine if third parties gained significant power in Colorado. We could have the "Labor and Scumbag Robbing Capitalists" committee, or alternatively the "Noble Businesspersons and Deranged Commies" committee.
Y'know, I was aware that the dam went by both names, but had no realization that it had been a multi-cycle process. Interesting / amusing.

Fascinating. And another reason not to name infrastructure projects for living people (esp. yourself).

And I agree about the naming of things after living people. Joe Paterno is just the latest example.
The Federal Government needs to engage in a bit of this.
