Burning Daylight (at night)

As a kid, I never used to mind going to bed while it was still light out just because it was still light out. I used to mind going to bed while it was still light out because I could hear there were still kids outside playing, dagnabbit!

  1. Yep. Putting my kids to bed while you could hear other kids outside was not fun.

OTOH. The only time my kids behaved as poorly as those kids was when we let them stay up the night before.

  2. +George Oswell could not get used to the sun staying up later in Salt Lake than San Diego. He'd look at his watch at sundown and say, "It's nearly 9pm, Mary you should be in bed." I was 6ish at the time. In San Diego, the sun is always down by 8pm even on the summer solstice.
