City officials in Sioux City, Iowa, are petitioning the FAA to change their airport code, which currently has the designation SUX.
What’s odd about this amusing story is “no one at the airport currently knows why the facility was designated SUX.” Perhaps, oh, I don’t know, somebody chose the first and last two letters?
