Things may heat up on the Hayman Fire today, which has been overing just over 100k acres over the weekend. Mild weather and calm winds have allowed firefighters to contain about 30% of the perimeter, but it’s supposed to get up around 90 today and the wind could kick up once more.
There was an aroma of smoke in the air this morning.
Meanwhile, it turns out that the fire was inadvertently set by a Forest Service worker, burning a letter from her estranged husband. I’m sure there are a lot of very obvious “Don’t do stupid things when you’re upset” lessons here.
I guess this is what ‘blind with rage’ means. Sad.
People do stupid things under emotional stress.
Though it may be more than that. Investigators still aren’t convinced that her story is true.
