Yeah, yeah, I missed Friday, too

Hence it’s the Friday Five:…

Hence it’s the Friday Five:

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?

On my mom’s side, Italian. On my dad’s, half-Irish, quarter-English, quarter-Spanish.

Katherine, once you mix in the percentages from Margie, is a true mutt (and shows quite a decent amount of hybrid vigor).

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit?

Ireland. Or England.

3. Which would you least like to visit? Why?

Well, I’d really like to visit them all. After the English-speaking ones (high on my criteria of where to visit), probably Italy, both for the heritage and for the cool antiquities. Not that Spain is anything to sneeze at in the latter category.

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage?

Not really, no.

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)?

On my mom’s side, it was great-grandparents. On my dad’s, it goes back a bit further, a few generations.

Margie’s DAR (if she chose to be), and has ancestors that came over on the Mayflower. On the other hand, she knows all the Kleerups in the US, and we’ve met most of the Kleerups in the world.
