This or That Potpourri

It’s This-or-That Tuesday!…

It’s This-or-That Tuesday!

1. Paper or plastic? We use paper in our kitchen trash cans (fills the can, and it’s absorbant!), so usually paper.

2. Stripes or plaid? With apologies to my Celtic heritage, I tend to prefer stripes.

3. Baseball or football? The only time that baseball has not bored me to gouging my eyes out with an egg-beater was when I actually attended a game (a Houston Astros game, on a business trip, many years ago). Then it was only mildly yawnful. So football.

4. TV or movies? I prefer seeing movies as movies than on TV (though DVD extras are nice). On TV, I most often watch TV shows, rather than movies on TV, just because of (a) the variety, and (b) throwing a DVD into the player implies an effort to actually watch what’s on, and finding two hours plus when I’m willing or able to do so (and when Margie is, too, since I have to watch movies with Margie, because that makes it fun) is nearly impossible.

5. Craig Kilborn or Conan O’Brien? Probably Kilborn, but neither really wows me.

6. Amazon or BN.com? Amazon is faboo. BN is okay, but it’s sort of feels like an imitation, always playing catch-up.

7. Yahoo or Google? Google is my search choice (even though Yahoo uses, or used, Google as their engine). I like some of the content that Yahoo has, but if one or the other had to vanish from the Net tomorrow, I’d vote to kick Yahoo off the island.

8. Star Trek or Star Wars? With my disappointment in the most recent two SW films, it’s tempting to say ST, and certainly I have an odd fondness for TOS (and bits and pieces of the others), but I’ll have to say SW nonetheless — more icons, fewer tetrions.

9. Cats or dogs? For us, it has to be cats — it’s a more compatable mix with our lifestyle. On the other hand, I love dogs, and so it’s nice to have proxy dogs in Jake and Dizzy.

10. Is that for here or to go? For here, definitely. I hate take-out — it’s always cold/cool/below-piping-hot by the time I get home.
