It’s the Saturday Scruples.
1. Legal attempts to stop clear-cutting of a forest of giant red woods have failed. Local activists plan to sabotage the logging company’s machinery. Do you support this action?
I support their intent, and so long as the sabotage is not going to endanger people, I support their tactics. So long as they’re willing to do the time if they’re caught at the crime.
2. The construction company where you work is doing a shoddy, dangerous job. If you tell the client, the company may go bankrupt. Do you tell?
Yes. My company’s solvency (which would be threatened by the shoddy work they’re doing anyway) nor my paycheck are worth putting others at risk.
3. Men: you’re single. You sleep with someone you hardly know and two months later, she’s having your baby. Do you accept this lifelong responsibility?
A little bit late to be making that decision. Yes, it’s the only honorable thing to do (and a good reason not to go around sleeping with folks you don’t know or don’t want to be committed with).
