It’s the 3X Thursday: Veggie-Veggie-Fruit-Fruit Edition. Because I need another Thursday Q&A …
1.Have you ever thought about being vegetarian? If you have not then why? If you are vegetarian then why?
I’ve given it some thought, sure. I have friends who are at various stages of vegitude, and I admire their resolve. But …
a. I don’t have the strong moral objections to eating animals/animal products that some of them have.
b. I’m not at all convinced of the supposed health benefits.
c. I like meat. And eggs. And dairy. And, if I didn’t mention it, meat, too.
2.So do you like to eat your veggies? What fruit and vegetables do you like to eat?
Well, that’s the other side to the answer above. I don’t mind veggies, but they’re not the first thing I grab. Corn, peas, green beans, spinach, it’s all good. Broccoli, and even cauliflower and asparagus, if they have sufficient goop drizzled on them.
On the fruit side — well, not so much. I think it’s being a control freak, but the variations in raw fruit tend to turn me off from it; fruit products (juices, using them in pies, etc.) I like much more. Particular favorites, especially in those latter genres, are apple, pear, peach, and most citrus.
But don’t offer me bananas. Or raw tomatoes. Please. It could get ugly.
3.What vegetarian food do you like? It can be made with dairy just not meat. Pick one non-meat food or drink that you think is groovy.
I can’t think of one, off-hand. I mean, there are plenty of non-meat entrees I’ve eaten (usually relying on cheese), if that counts, but I don’t think of them as explicitly vegetarian foods.
Bonus Question for the Comments: What is the tastiest beverage ever? Ports and dessert wines. Wines in general. Wheat beers. Cocoa drinks. Milk shakes and malts. Lemonade and citrus juices. Cider and apple juice. Can I stop now?
