I’m not a big Tom Strickland fan. He gets a bit gushily liberal and hot-button-issues for me. I don’t think he’s the Antichrist, as some of the Wayne Allard ads would have me believe, but he’s not high on the list of folks I’d vote for.
On the other hand, Wayne Allard isn’t much special, either. He’s not been a horrible senator for Colorado, but there are some votes of his that have stuck in my craw.
So I’ll be voting for Strickland, not because of him, per se, but because I’d just as soon see the Senate stay Democratic. And that’s not because I’m a Tom Daschle fan, but because I think our government works best when one party doesn’t hold all the reins — and while the Senate Democrats are occasionally obstructionist slime, I don’t trust the Bush Administration (or House or Senate Republicans) not to run roughshod over the citizenry if they once again get a majority in both houses and the White House.
