In the course of being presented information on all the keen stuff the folks here in Oak Ridge are doing, I was handed back a disturbingly familiar document …
… one which, with the serial numbers filed off (and some local mods), looks like something I must have written back nine-odd years ago. I don’t remember having done it, but it’s in a format only I would have used, and the phrasing in much of it is as I would have written it.
I’m amused, in a spooky Twilight Zone way. Sort of like getting a message from beyond the grave …

I was working at Hanford doing some SDDs (System Description Documents) and there was a thing in the paper about how a local guy who was famous for being a whistle blower (and had gotten fired) had gotten a job, I think with the DOE.
The guy had written a book, so I got a copy and started reading it. One of the things that he was saying in it was that the proper documentation for some equipment had not been done, and described some particular pieces that had to be done. It all looked familiar – it was the stuff I was doing the SDDs for!
Of course, the book had been written seven years prior….
Heh. That’s funny.
