I almost have hope for the new Battlestar Galactica series if Edward James Olmos is playing Adama (Lorne Greene’s old role).
Though I don’t mind seeing the whole thing remixed, I also wouldn’t mind getting Patrick Macnee back to do a main titles voice-over.

Crash and burn ahead, man. It’s way too science fictiony for the James Edwards Channel.
You know, this one may be good. The original show never really worked for me — when I watch them on the marathons on Sci-Fi, they’re … bad? Some are excellent, but most stink.
Kim hates that Starbuck is a woman…
There was some really cool (to a high school kid) episode in the original (bearing in mind the ghetto that was sf on TV in those days), such as the whole Count Iblis story line (there’s Patrick McNee again).
There was also some serious crapola (“The Gun on Ice Planet Zero” comes to mind.
Yeah, the original was hot and cold, but I watched it because there was so little SF on the TV those days. A little space opera is good for the soul. Maybe the new one will be better; we’ll see.
